reebuild Raises €3M to Build AI-Native Back-Office Automation for Construction

• reebuild uses AI to automate the commercial back office of construction companies and property developers, from invoice review to cost management.
• Customers process document workflows 7x faster, and customers report that procurement costs can be reduced by up to 20%.
• The funding accelerates expansion into additional European countries and new AI-native modules that automate contractors' workflows from calculation to accounting, while seamlessly integrating into existing IT landscapes.

‍Vienna, October 13, 2026. reebuild, the AI-native back-office automation platform for construction and real estate, has raised a €3 million seed round. The round is led by European investor Fortino Ventures, with participation from Rise PropTech and CuriosityVC. The funding will support expansion into additional European countries and new AI-native modules that automate the commercial workflow of contractors from calculation to accounting.

reebuild is a vertical AI platform that automates invoice review, cost management and material tracking for construction companies and property developers. Every incoming document – whether PDF, photo, scan or e-invoice – is read line by line by AI, structured and matched automatically. Today, reebuild processes more than €530 million in invoice volume for over 120 companies across more than 8,200 construction sites and projects, and more than 345,000 documents have passed through the platform. Its customers include Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Rödl & Herdegen and Kratzert Gruppe. The software is developed in Vienna, hosted in Germany and GDPR-compliant.

‍Manual Processes Are Holding Back an Entire Industry

‍In construction and real estate, much of the cost administration and control – especially between departments in day-to-day operations – is still managed manually in spreadsheets and filed in paper folders. Invoices are matched by hand against contract terms or delivery notes. Approvals take too long and lack transparency, and early-payment discounts expire unused. Project costs sit in outdated tables, so strategic decisions are made on stale information. With rising risks in financing, energy and materials, margins can shrink quickly and turn into real financial losses.

On top of that, a generational shift is underway in many companies: as the next generation takes charge, the expectation grows that cost tracking and transparency should be just as digital as they already are in everyday private life. Demand for software that meets that expectation is growing accordingly.

Built Extremely Close to the Day-to-Day Reality on Site

‍“We know the problems of this industry firsthand, and we build reebuild together with our customers, extremely close to the day-to-day reality on site,” says Alexander Kornell, CEO and founder of reebuild. “The software many construction companies and developers still work with today has barely evolved in decades and has fallen behind rising expectations. We're convinced that we can shake up this market with a team that combines deep construction and technology know-how. Not with another tool, but with a solution that truly understands how construction sites and projects are handled on the commercial side.”

That claim is rooted in the team's own experience: Alexander Kornell (CEO) and Matteo Cimadom (CRO) have deep roots in construction through their family businesses. Together with Luca Papay (CTO) and Nicolaus Lederer (COO), they bring years of hands-on experience in construction and real estate, as well as in AI research and development.

‍AI-Native Automation, Built for the Reality of Construction Sites

‍reebuild's AI reads every incoming document – PDF, photo, scan or e-invoice – line by line and stores it as structured data. Delivery notes, invoices and order confirmations are matched automatically, invoice corrections are recalculated automatically, and the software learns from the decisions of managing directors and commercial managers, taking more and more repetitive work off their hands. On site, a foreman photographs a delivery note with the app, and it is automatically embedded in the system.

AI agents prepare the work, take over repetitive tasks, and recommend next actions, while the team keeps the final say: approvals run through workflows, so people decide and the software does the time-consuming and error-prone reading, matching and calculating.

‍Measurable Impact on Contractors' Margins

‍For contractors, the effect is directly reflected in profit margins. Less time spent on administration and better decisions on current project data add up to measurable savings across the organization: handling an invoice takes around three minutes instead of over twenty, the path from receipt to approval shrinks from five days to a day and a half, and customer feedback reports that contractors can reduce procurement costs by up to 20%. In an industry where margins are typically in the single digits, that is the difference that counts.

Building a growth company in construction means tackling the fundamental problems, not just the symptoms around them – and building a solution that is not just good but superior for the customer. That is how reebuild grows from customer to customer: by working closely with the people who use the product every day, more than 2,350 of them across over 120 customers, and by making every account more valuable over time.

The Vision: The Agentic Back Office for Construction

‍reebuild's vision reaches far beyond workflow automation: the goal is to reduce administrative overhead in construction to zero. Built on the structured data behind every document, reebuild is developing the agentic back office for contractors, in which AI agents independently handle routine tasks like invoicing, on-site documentation and project estimation – and over time the entire commercial workflow of a contractor, from calculation to accounting. Teams in construction get their time back for what counts: revenue-generating work instead of day-to-day administration.

Where the €3 Million Goes

‍The funding goes into three areas. Geographically, reebuild is established in Austria and Germany and is now expanding into further European countries, where development partnerships already provide first proof points beyond its home markets. On the product side, reebuild is building AI-native modules that fully automate contractors' processes from calculation to accounting. And in Vienna, reebuild is building out its team, which today comprises around 25 people, with new colleagues planned over the coming months.

Investors See Major Potential in a Still Underdigitized Industry

‍Wouter Goossens, Partner at Fortino Ventures, says, “We believe now is the time for construction companies to digitize and automate their back-office processes with SaaS and AI. reebuild is the right team to execute on this, with the founding team having their family roots in the construction sector.”

“We’re really happy with how Alexander and the team have developed and excited to keep supporting them on the journey ahead,” says Andrei Podlesnyi, Investment Manager at Hansmann Family Office. "Over the past years, reebuild has proven that staying close to customers is what drives both exceptional growth and outstanding retention."
