We’re growing, and ahead of launching our second fund, we’re looking for a Principal to join our leadership team and play a key role in shaping Curiosity’s next chapter. 

The role

As a Principal at Curiosity VC, you’ll be a key driver in discovering, evaluating and supporting the next generation of founders. You’ll combine analytical depth with curiosity, empathy, and entrepreneurial instinct, helping both our fund and portfolio companies grow and thrive. 

What you’ll do

• Scout the next game-changing founders: source, evaluate and champion early-stage B2B software startups leveraging AI, data and machine learning. Conduct deep technical, market, and team assessments to identify the most promising opportunities 
• Drive portfolio success: support founders with strategic guidance, operational insights, and introductions to potential customers, partners and investors. Help our portfolio companies scale and thrive
• Shape our fund strategy: contribute to developing and refining Curiosity’s investment thesis and fund strategy, ensuring we stay ahead of technology trends and market opportunities. 
• Close and manage deals: lead deal structuring, term sheet negotiations, and investment committee discussions, ensuring smooth execution and strong alignment with founders and LPs
• Build and leverage networks: maintain and grow relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and potential LPs across our regions to strengthen Curiosity’s deal flow and influence 
• Represent Curiosity and yourself: elevate the Curiosity brand by speaking at conferences, participating in panels, engaging with the startup ecosystem and actively building your personal brand as a thought leader in AI, data and venture capital
• Shape Curiosity’s growth: contribute to initiatives in organizational development, fund innovation, tech stack improvements or platform building to strengthen the fund and the team

‍Who you are

‍We’re looking for someone who combines intellectual curiosity with a collaborative spirit. A strong individual contributor who thrives in a team that values transparency, integrity and who is in it for the long run.

‍Your experience likely includes (but you don’t need to tick every box)

• 7-14 years of professional experience, ideally including:
  
  • Founder or early team experience in a successful scale-up and/or
  • Investment experience at an early stage VC fund
• Deep understanding of B2B software, data, AI or emerging technologies
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• A broad network across the Benelux, Nordics or Baltics tech ecosystems
• Ability to build authentic relationships with founders and investors
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to develop and leverage networks with potential Limited Partner (LP) investors, including high net worth individuals, family offices and institutional investors.
• Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

Bonus points for:

• Experience mentoring or coaching founders
• Proficiency in additional local languages (Nordic, Baltic or Benelux) 
• Experience in building and deploying workflows using no-/lowcode tools (e.g. n8n, Leverage, Zapier) to streamline internal operations

‍Location:

‍Amsterdam or remotely located in our key focus regions: Benelux, Nordics, Baltics or London or Paris, with frequent travel to the Amsterdam office required.
