Curiosity is a new venture capital firm based in Amsterdam, focused on early-stage investments in AI-driven B2B software companies in Benelux, Nordics and Baltics countries, supporting their growth to become category leaders in their market. Curiosity has been founded in 2021 by two experienced operator-investors, supported by a community of advisors, entrepreneurs and limited partners. In the coming quarters, they are aiming to build an investment team with a number of investment analysts and associates. To give ambitious students and recent graduates the opportunity to learn about the venture capital industry and work alongside our team in sourcing and assessment of investment opportunities and management of portfolio companies, Curiosity is currently looking for an:

Investment Analyst (intern) - per Aug 2024

Internship at new venture capital firm, with offices in Amsterdam & Zoetermeer, The Netherlands

Activities

The investment analyst (intern) will be working alongside the partners on:

• Scouting promising startups, connecting/meeting with ambitious entrepreneurs
• Assessment of investment opportunities, including specific analyses (team strength, customer metrics, market attractiveness, competition, financials)
• Development of investment proposals, fund reporting and other documentation
• Assisting portfolio companies with requests and reporting requirements
• Supporting internal and external PR, communications and organisation of community events
• Support Curiosity’s fundraising process

Requirements

We look for candidates that have the following requirements:

• Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset
• Enrollment in (or just finished) a (Master) level university program in business, finance, computer science or another engineering topic.
• Gained some first experiences in fast-paced work environments, such as a startup, strategy-consulting, investment banking or venture capital
• Clear affinity with technology and entrepreneurship;
• Team player with strong communication skills; a network in the tech ecosystem is a plus
• Analytical, data-driven, but pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch language is a plus, but not required
• A network in the local startup scenes in the Benelux, Nordics or Baltics is a plus

The internship is for minimally 4 months and maximally 6 months.
